1. How long has AIS been in business?
AIS was established in 1986
2. How often is the AIS report published?
Every week.
3. If I subscribe, on which day of the week do I get my report?
It is posted on Thursdays, so you should have in on Friday morning (or Monday at latest).
4. Can I get this report by email/ electronically?
Yes. By email it comes in PDF and Excel files. The PDF file is exactly like the hard/ postal copy and can be printed/ word searched etc, while the Excel is useful for mail merges, etc.
5. When does the email version go out?
On Wednesday (therefore you receive your report earlier)
6. How much is a subscription
Nationwide - €575 + VAT
Regional - from €300 + VAT (prices as of 2011)
7. How much is the email version.
Same price as the hard copy (additional fee if you want email and hardcopy).
8. What type of developments/ projects are listed in the AIS reports?
Major and minor projects which require require planning permission. Government and public tenders of interest to the industry.
9. At what stages do you list projects?
(1) When the planning application is submitted to the planning authority offices;
(2) Next we list it when a decision is made (to grant of refuse permission);
(3) If there are appeals or objections lodged;
(4) We then list decision on these appeals in the An Bord Pleanala section;
(5) Finally, AIS inform you when work commences.
10. What is An Bord Pleanala?
An Bord Pleanala is an independent statutory body which makes decisions on any planning decision, by a local authority/ council, on which an appeal/ objection has been lodged.
11. What information does Advance Information Weekly give on each application?
Location, description of scheme, site area, floor area, applicant, architects, contractors and other team members. Phone numbers, emails, fax numbers and key contact names.
12.Does it give details on the main contractors carrying out a project?
Yes we list the main contractor/ builder in the Contracts Start-Ups section.
13. Is the same information repeated week to week?
No. The only way in which a project will be repeated is when it moved to a different stage (see question 9).
14. Does the report give information on public tenders/ road developments, etc?
Yes. We give a summary each week of industry related public tenders in our Tenders Invited Section.
15. If I subscribe, can I get back issues?
Yes. We will supply recent back issues at no extra cost. Back issues over a longer period may incur some costs.
16. How up to date is the info in the report?
AIS endeavour to publish applications as soon as they become available to us.
17. What kind of people/ companies subscribe to Advance Information Weekly?
Contractors, sub-contractors, auctioneers/ estate agents, property companies, suppliers, service companies, banking/ finance, engineers, design companies, architects, property developers, etc.
18. Do subscribers get business from Advance Information Weekly?
We would not guarantee that subscribers will capture business by using AIS, however, the level of re subscription to AIS is extremely high which would suggest that subscribers are finding our service very valuable. At the very least, using AIS will keep you abreast of current developments and enable you to monitor the market.
